The Twickenham and Thames Valley Beekeepers' Association (TTVBKA) has announced the sad passing of Edward (Ted) Chatley, who was a central figure in the association for more than 40 years. Ted gave years of selfless dedication to the Equipment Trading Scheme and was always ready to give advice to other beekeepers. Ted stars in the TTVBKA's award-winning centenary film and appeared on more Honey Show shields than anyone in the association’s history. He kept bees since 1974 and won the trophy for best extracting comb more than 14 times! Ted will be greatly missed and leaves a large hole in the fabric of the beekeeping community.
