Spotty dotty disease
As I spring-cleaned one hive, I noticed that the (solid) floor was covered in debris, like very fine sawdust or dark sand. Not sure what's going on here. My second hive has a mesh floor, so I have no comparison.
My guess...chewy wax particles from comb cleaning. I find the same debris, along with legs, antennae, pollen and poop (and thus far no Varroa). Ball it up and toss it to the wall on a warm day would be one way to know. If it sticks, so does my theory??
